The character is a fixture of the 007 franchise, with her significance and input having grown over the years from M’s receptionist, to a more prominent and informative member of MI6 in the recent films. In terms of willingness to change its approach and alter the style of its more traditional elements, the 007 series has never been one to steer clear of new concepts....

James Gray is closing a deal to direct I Am Pilgrim, a film adaptation of the spy thriller novel by Terry Hayes. The original book was published by Hayes in July of 2013 and MGM acquired the film rights almost exactly a year later. MGM thereafter set Matthew Vaughn to bring I Am Pilgrim to the big screen, but the filmmaker wound up tackling another spy franchise altogether in the form of Kingsman....

The first two Home Alone movies are regarded as Christmas classics that show Kevin protecting himself from a pair of Burglars. A dramatic turn in Jaws sees the shark eat a little boy named Alex Kintner, but in the original version of the scene, the child was devoured onscreen. Thanks to ridiculous B-movies like Sharknado, Sharktopus, and other movies starting with shark, the creature feature genre isn’t exactly in the highlight of its life. Jeff Goldblum is coming back to play fan favorite character Ian Malcolm in the action movie sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but the actor has now confirmed it will only be a small appearance. Bourne Legacy star Jeremy Renner says he is still game to do a sequel to the 2012 film which saw him briefly taking over as the lead of the Bourne franchise, before original series star Matt Damon decided to return for 2016’s Jason Bourne. Renner appeared in The Bourne Legacy as Aaron Cross, an agent of Outcome who is forced to go on the run after Jason Bourne’s actions lead to his program being shut down....

Video game publisher and developer Ubisoft may not be too happy with Hollywood for how it adapted the Prince of Persia series to the big screen, leading them to finance their own future video game adaptations with the newly formed Ubisoft Motion Pictures, but they’re holding no grudges against the star of the movie. Jake Gyllenhaal will attempt to lead another big budget, high profile video game adaptation, this time based on the brand new hit IP Tom Clancy’s The Division....

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is reportedly being courted to write James Bond 26, following her efforts as a cowriter on next year’s No Time to Die. The news arrives hot on the heels of her multiple Emmy victories - including, Comedy Series, Lead Actress, and Writing - this past Sunday for the second season of Fleabag (the widely-acclaimed show based on her one-woman stage play of the same name). Five Hollywood studios are currently engaged in a bidding war for the rights to the James Bond film franchise. The property had called Sony home for the better part of a decade, beginning when Daniel Craig took over the role of 007 in 2006’s Casino Royale. Their agreement with MGM and EON Productions expired following the release of Spectre in 2015, and since then Bond has been up for grabs. The series producers are hoping to move forward on the currently untitled Bond 25 soon (they already have screenwriters in place), but before the cameras start to roll, this matter has to be resolved....

As unlikely as it sounds, a Walker, Texas Ranger reboot starring Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki is really happening, and it’s going forward at The CW. When news of a Walker reboot starring Padalecki first broke late last month, the reaction was a bit incredulous, to say the least. For one, after 15 years on Supernatural, and appearances in the Friday the 13th and House of Wax remakes, Padalecki is primarily identified with the horror genre....

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 writer/director James Gunn says that he wrote the movie’s script without any instructions from Marvel Studios, and that Nebula’s ending just happened to fit well for Avengers: Infinity War. At the end of Guardians 2, Nebula declines an offer to join the team, instead declaring her intention to hunt down and kill Thanos - which neatly dovetails with the start of her arc in Infinity War....
