Standing as the fifth installment in the blockbuster action/thriller franchise, Jason Bourne will see the return of director Paul Greengrass and actor Matt Damon to the popular Bourne film series (as inspired by the Jason Bourne novels from the late American author Robert Ludlum). The first Bourne film made by the duo since The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007 (which was followed by the less-successful spinoff The Bourne Legacy in 2012), Greengrass and Damon are primed to deliver the “biggest” Bourne movie that viewers have seen yet.

Based on the footage featured in the movie’s first full-length trailer, Jason Bourne appears to be ready to deliver a thrilling follow-up to Bourne Ultimatum, and with any luck might attract a few new fans to the feature franchise in the process. On that note, the latest bit of marketing for Greengrass’ upcoming Bourne film includes a pair of magazine covers that place Damon (as the movie’s namesake) front and center.

On two variant covers of the latest issue of Total Film, Damon can be seen in full costume from the set of Jason Bourne as a part of the film magazine’s special 176-page relaunch. The issue will include exclusive interviews with Damon and Greengrass on the Jason Bourne set, in addition to an a one-on-one with Oscar-winning Jason Bourne costar Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) in a conversation that ranges from topics related to Bourne and the Tomb Raider reboot that Vikander is now attached to headline. Jason Bourne is set to find the film’s eponymous star in the midst of a post Edward Snowden world of Internet conspiracy and technological warfare, and as such should serve to launch the entire franchise into the next phase of its own inherent legacy. It’s been nearly ten years since viewers last saw Damon in action as Bourne, though Greengrass and company appear ready to deliver a follow-up installment sure to please die-hard fans of the series and newcomers alike.

Only time will tell how warmly received Jason Bourne will end up being when the film finally sees release later this July, but based on the latest covers from Total Film Damon looks ready to take on the task ahead of him. Greengrass has yet to steer fans wrong in his preceding three installments, which certainly goes a long way in regards to building up anticipation for the next installment in the franchise.

Jason Bourne will see theatrical release in the U.S. on July 29, 2016.
