As promotion continues for Justice League, a new week of marketing focused on Aquaman has just begun. While the final battle in last year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice teased the team-up between Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, Justice League will be entirely focused on the interplay between various superheroes. It will also serve as audience’s first real introduction to characters like The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman in the DCEU.
For Warner Bros and DC, that last character is especially important at the moment. Aquaman will be the sole DC movie arriving in 2018, and the character has a lot of stigmas. Mostly disregarded as being silly, Jason Momoa and Zack Snyder have worked hard to dispel that idea with their aggressive take on the hero. But if the King of Atlantis fails to impress next month, his solo film might be in trouble.
To address this issue, WB and DC are kicking off Aquaman week on social media. A new video featuring Momoa teases a big focus on his character for the next week in order to get fans excited about the hero and Justice League. Check it out:

What content will arrive for Aquaman week is unknown, but expect plenty of images and promos. Since the release of the latest Justice League trailer this weekend, the film has been hemorrhaging clips and TV spots for the new film. Hopefully, the bombardment of marketing doesn’t backfire.
Likely, the deep dive into Aquaman will be followed by additional week-long spotlights for the rest of the core heroes. Along with Aquaman, Cyborg will need to win over audiences. Though his solo movie is two years off, he’s still the most obscure member of the team and could certainly use a boost in visibility. Ironically, The Flash—whose had decades of popularity and currently has a hit TV show—is the hero whose movie is suffering the most setbacks. Still, his appearance in Justice League could help to sell fans on Ezra Miller’s take on the Scarlet Speedster.
While positive early reviews have already arrived for Thor: Ragnarok, it will likely be a bit longer before we hear what critics have to say about Justice League. If it can borrow some of the magic from Wonder Woman, it should prove yet another hit for DC. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait much longer to see Justice League and decide for themselves.
