Jeffrey Dean Morgan avoids revealing whether or not he’ll be playing Batman in Warner Bros.’ Flashpoint movie. Morgan and his Walking Dead co-star Lauren Cohan played Thomas and Martha Wayne, respectively, in Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice last year, and the actor has always been interested in reprising his role as Bruce Wayne’s father in a potential Flashpoint movie, which would be based on the comic book limited series of the same name written by now-DC Films president Geoff Johns.

For those that don’t know, the Flashpoint story arc centers on Barry Allen, aka the Flash, running back in time and preventing Eobard Thawne, aka the Reverse-Flash, from murdering his mother, Nora Allen (as depicted in The CW’s The Flash season 2 finale). By doing so, the Flash changes history (and the future) and catapults the DC Universe into the paradox universe called Flashpoint. The alternate universe is radically different from the one people are used to, and one of the biggest changes is that instead of Thomas and Martha Wayne being killed on that fateful night, Bruce dies. In turn, Thomas eventually becomes Batman and Martha becomes the Joker.

Warner Bros. officially confirmed this past summer that The Flash movie will now be titled Flashpoint, presumably based on the aforementioned storyline, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been keen on reprising his role as Thomas Wayne for the film. However, when asked about his involvement with the project on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor dodged the question and tried turning the conversation back to his daughter’s gender. You can watch the clip in the section above.

Jimmy Kimmel points out that the last time Morgan was on his show, they discussed a photo that had been taken from the set of Batman V Superman, thus revealing his then-unrevealed role as Thomas Wayne. Kimmel attempted to get another response from the actor during last night’s episode, but unfortunately, Morgan was having none of it, laughing and saying, “I didn’t say sh*t.” Morgan confessed that he doesn’t know what’s happening with that movie, but he also didn’t explicitly deny his involvement with it either.

The Flash movie has been circling development hell for the past few years, with directors Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa both exiting the project due to creative differences. Considering that the movie will now adapt the Flashpoint story arc, DC Films and Warner Bros. are presumably looking for someone who can handle that level of intricacies, such as Robert Zemeckis, who has handled his fair share of time-traveling stories.
